KASA presents a benefit event for Japan on August 11th, 6pm-8pm, at Vanessie in Santa Fe, NM. Our intention is to raise awareness of the current situation in Sendai following the March 11th earthquake and tsunami. The evening will feature live performances by taiko drummer, Keishi Yazawa (Sendai native), vocal artist Madi Sato, Smokin' Bachi Taiko Ensemble and Shigin singer Michiko Pierce. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public.
Special thanks to Santa Fe Jin, Vanessie and Smoking Bachi Taiko.
KASA board members will travel to Japan this October to locate families needing assistance. We are focusing our efforts on small villages like the community of Rokugo to help rebuild lives and raise spirits!
Thank you for your interest in KASA! For more information about our future plans, contact Stephen Sato or Madi Sato.
