I am deeply grateful for all who attended the event, To Sendai With Love. Thank you to all of the artists who offered songs, prayers and dances. A heartfelt thanks to our featured guest artist, Keishi Yazawa from Sendai, Japan. You allowed us to connect to the land and people of Sendai through the taiko drum and your sincere stories of healing and hope. May we continue to send our love and prayers to Japan. May my brother, Stephen Sato and his new non-profit organization, KASA: Kindness America - Sendai Alliance be blessed with guidance and support. CHOIR TESTIMONIAL
"Thank you for creating a place where I can feel safe and supported in expressing myself. Even though the choir is a group setting you have this rare and wonderful gift of making each one of us feel that our voice is unique and beautiful and worthy of hearing and sharing with others. Often times I would come to choir after a long and chaotic day at work feeling either exhausted or completely stressed out but I would leave an hour and a half later feeling calm, serene, and connected to not only myself but also to rest of the community. I think of the choir as medicine for the soul and I really cherish that time with you and the other women."

My new CD, Return to the River
I spent the day in the studio with my producer, John Rangel....getting closer to completion. As I sing these songs I feel my hands in the rice fields of Sendai, walking with Obaachan to the temple, sipping Ocha with family on the tatami mats, being dressed in kimono by the women of my family, cleaning the ancestors altar and offering food, the big baths, watching the dragonfly around my father's grave, looking at the milky way in Sendai and talking to my father, coming into motherhood, singing shigin with Koji San on taiko, singing in circle with my choir and meeting the ONE, my love.
I dedicate this CD to my father, Tadaharu Sato (1948-1980).
I am going to Boulder, CO this week to sing in a benefit concert for Sendai at Naropa. Sawagi Benefit. See you there!Japan Benefit, Naropa University Boulder, CO
